Cayman Islands scuba diving

A recent report on the Cayman Net News highlights a new proposed five year plan which will make the Cayman Island’s scuba diving industry carbon neutral. Dive operators on the Cayman Islands plan to use carbon offsets, biofuel to power their dive boats and set up a local carbon offset fund.

Global C02 emissions

With the current trends in the use of oil consumption the global emissions of CO2 will increase from 27 billion tonnes in 2005 to 42 billion tonnes in 2030 (International Energy Agency).
