The Telluride Daily Planet reports that the Telluride Bluegrass Festival has been reducing carbon emissions and waste produced in Town Park through a number of initiatives including recycling, offsetting and incentive programs. However, for this years festival Planet Bluegrass have also purchased carbon offsets to cover the CO2 produced via travel to the festival.

Mortgage Strategy reports that carbon neutral homes are a long way off being produced – “it will be decades before we can build eco-towns of zero carbon homes, saying that housing shortage will continue to drive up prices and therefore constrain the ability to build, and pay for, carbon neutral homes.” Read more here.

The Economist reports that “Every tonne of fuel burnt by a jet aeroplane produces 3.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The BBC reports “The UK has unveiled its first zero emission home that will set the environmental standard for all new homes in the future.
