Global warming and tourism

The World Monuments Fund has recently released its ‘Watch List’ report which sets out the world’s 100 most endangered monuments.
Monuments and sites at threat from global warming, include:

Herschel  Island in Canada, home to an ancient Inuit sites (rising sea levels)
Captain Scott’s base in Antartica (increase in snowfall)

Bollywood Oscars come to Yorkshire

The Bollywood Oscars have been held in Yorkshire which has attracted approximately 30,000 visitors spending an estimated £10m.  The  International Indian Film Academy have tried to make the event carbon neutral.  Read more in the Guardian newspaper.
